Little Things for my Mental Health
Updated: Mar 23
Hey everyone, welcome back to Shades of Tay - blog style!
Wanted to share with you some of my fav little things to better my mental health, I posted this on Facebook and thought my blog readers could benefit from it as well.
No day will be the same, some are harder than others. Every day is a mission. But I promise choosing yourself and making your mental health a priority is one of the most rewarding things you can do for yourself. The days when everything just seems to much for me I always remind myself “back to basics”. Just sharing some of my things I like to do when I am overwhelmed or having an off day. Who knows they might even help a fellow friend 💞 #BellLetsTalk • breathe: because slowing your breath and taking a moment to just focus on breathing is one of the quickest calming tools ✨ • NAP: because who doesn’t love a good nap, sometimes it’s what the brain and soul needs 💤 • write: get your feelings out, sometimes letting that shit out feels good ✏️ • read a good book: not for everyone I know but don’t knock it till ya try it - it’s like binging Netflix but better 📖 • 3-5 things that bring you peace: this will allow you to practice mindfulness which is a tool that everyone needs to try, I really thought this was all made up bs but just try it - you don’t have anything to lose 🧠 • workout or walk: I try my best to do this but it doesn’t always work, sometimes I don’t have the energy but it does feel really good when you get a sweat on and release some of those toxins 💦 • clean a small space: whether it’s your living space, your desk, locker, car. a clean space is nice to look at it and I have a much easier time focusing in a clean space 🧼 • talk: the hardest one typically but can honestly be the most therapeutic one for me personally, I love connecting with others and getting the difficult things off my chest makes others aware. bottling my feeling has just never worked for me 🔊
