Hey everyone, welcome back to Shades of Tay – blog style!
I am so excited to share today’s post with you, as you can tell by the title it is going to be a ColourPop haul! ColourPop is hands down one of my favourite cosmetic brands, their products are very high quality for such an affordable price (and cruelty free!). I have an addiction to all things beauty, especially affordable beauty products - that is my jam. I truly feel you can get some BOMB products at the drugstore as well as some brands that are based only online like ColourPop.
So with that being said, let’s dive into the products I picked up:
This is the You Had Me At Hello eyeshadow palette. Right off the bat, I am in love with this packaging the pink and the gold is just super inviting and I'm extremely attracted to it! It has all the colour names on the back going from left to right, top to bottom. This palette retails for $18usd, most of the ColourPop pressed eyeshadow palettes retail for $16usd but because of the mirror this one is a little pricier, which I really didn't mind paying the extra $2.
The colours are absolutely beautiful, there are so many looks you can do with this warm palette - more natural everyday looks as well as darker bold looks, I am living for the diversity. The shadows are so soft and creamy, the colour pay off is outstanding as you can tell by the swatches above. I think this is a perfect palette for anyones makeup collection - I will definitely be taking this palette travelling with me. One of my favourite things about Colourpop is the names they give their products, they're so creative and unique.
The Knot - metallic cool-toned ivory
Moon Struck - metallic soft gold
Two Peas - matte peachy beige
Candygram - metallic pinky red with gold duochrome
Winning Ticket - matte dusty mauve pink
FBO - metallic pink violet
Look-See - matte cool-toned purple
Fool's Rush - metallic golden bronze
Pulling Strings - matte warm saddle brown
Want U Back - matte dusty mauve brown
DTR - metallic silvery taupe
Sparks Fly - deep matte plummy brown
Next product is from the newest KathleenLights x ColourPop Dream collaboration - the Dream St eyeshadow palette. For those of you who aren't sure who Kathleen Lights is. She is one of my all time favourite beauty YouTubers, I watch all of her videos - as soon as she posted about this collab I knew I had to have it. Look at this rose gold reflective packaging, ugh it is gorgeous. This palette retails for $16usd but has no mirror.
The shades in this palette are so beautiful, with such a great mix of neutral warm nude tones and vibrant pops of colour. Kathleen killed it with the whole dream vibe she gave this collection, when I look at the palette I think dreamy and romance so the name is very fitting. The quality of these shadows are incredible, they are so buttery - the pigmentation of them is even better then the You Had Me at Hello palette. One of the YouTubers I watch said they feel like ColourPop stepped up their game even more for this palette. If you are looking for a palette that has a little pop of colour, but still a lot of neutral shades,,this is definitely the one for you. I love the names Kathleen came up with for these shadows.
Shooting Star - matte soft golden brown
Magical - matte yellow peach
Star Dust - metallic true copper
Twinkle - metallic true rose gold
Sweet Dreams - metallic soft champagne with a peachy pink flip
Water Bearer - matte cool teal
Potion - matte vivid reddish rust
Spark - matte neon red
Kaleidoscope - metallic intense silvery nude
Elfish - matte rich red brown
Moony - satin soft baby pink
Mermaid Boy - metallic deep teal
Kathleen Lights also came out with the Dream Team lip trio as part of the Dream collection. The collection has two ultra satin lips and one ultra glossy lip. The trio retails for $16usd or you can buy the shades individually for $6.50usd. The first one you see in the photo above is called Rever, which is an orange-red in the ultra satin formula. This colour is the perfect orange-red, I have never seen anything like this colour - it will be absolutely stunning in the summer with a tan. The next colour is Dreamy, and it's a peachy pink in the ultra satin formula. I really feel this colour will suit all skin tones and look completely different on everyone - it's a nice mix between peach and pink. The last colour is Moon Child, which is a pinky nude with gold glitter and by glitter I don't mean super sparkly and chunky glitter, it is more golden sheen than glitter. This one is the ultra glossy formula, I was so surprised by this formula - it is not a sticky gloss whatsoever it is so comfortable on the lips and feels quite hydrating. This trio offers three complete different colours and each are absolutely beautiful for every different skin tone, I am super pleased with this purchase. See swatches below:
A few more lip products to share with you...They are all collabs with beauty YouTuber iluvsarahii, she did launch two different lip trios but I wasn't able to get my hands on all of them. The first trio featured an ultra matte lip, an ultra satin lip and an ultra glossy lip. You get to try three different formulas in this trio, which retails for $16usd or you can buy each one individually for $6.50usd.
The first shade in this trio is called Mamacita, it's a deepened burgundy in the ultra matte formula. I haven't actually tried this one on my lips yet but the colour is so bold and a great look for fall. I actually have a plan to use this shade in an upcoming photoshoot. Next shade is 951, it's a mid tone nude in the ultra satin formula - which is my absolute favourite formula as it dries down to a matte but stays comfortable. This is a beautiful nude for everyone's makeup collection (you can never have enough nudes). The last shade in this trio is Curvii, it's the ultra glossy formula and is a sparkly light peach in a creme finish. This shade is a little too peachy for my fair skin right now, but I think with more of a tan this shade will suit my skin.
The iluvsarahii 2 bundle was launched just in time for the holidays, which by this colour selection how could you not want it for the holidays? It also retails for $16usd or you have the option to buy the products individually for $6.50usd. This trio comes with an ultra matte, an ultra metallic and an ultra glossy formula. As you can see, the one photo is not taken by me - I wasn't able to get my hands on this one called Softii as it was sold out when I made my purchase. It is the ultra matte formula in a deep rose shade. I do really want to pick up this shade to complete the collection and I do think this would be a great colour to have for all year round. Next shade is called Atole, it is the ultra glossy formula in a metallic gold with a pink shift - I am obsessed with this gloss and haven't really stopped wearing it since I got my ColourPop order in the mail. The last shade in this trio is the most intriguing shade for sure - it is called Couqette, which comes in the ultra metallic formula in a rich merlot colour - it reminds me of cranberries. This is such a cool shade for all different holidays or events, I will definitely be using this shade for date night on Valentines Day. See all the iluvsarahii swatches below:
Okay, that completes my ColourPop haul - these are all the products I picked up! I am not disappointed with any of my purchases. I will definitely be placing another order from them in the future. If you have any ColourPop suggestions please leave me a comment and I'll be sure to check it out. I'll also link the ColourPop website below if you'd like to see what other great products they have.
